Wendy's Is Bringing Back Popular Burger

While many fast food chain has its menu staples, big brands are always busting out new and innovative twists on fan favorites, from McDonald’s Big Arch to Taco Bell’s Tacodilla. While there are plenty of limited-time offerings like KFC’s Pickle Mania menu, it hurts a little extra when a big-name chain discontinues a long-time favorite after several seasons—if not years—to cycle in a new product.

Luckily for fans, Wendy’s just announced that it’s bringing back a beloved burger after four long years — and fans are racing to try it again.

In honor of the biggest tournament in college basketball, Wendy’s launched a "Bring it Back Bracket" on social media and invited customers across the U.S. to vote on which discontinued Wendy's menu item deserves a comeback.

After stiff competition featuring icons like nostalgic yellow packaging, the Bourbon Bacon Cheeseburger, Sweet and Sour Sauce, and the Monterey Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Wendy’s is officially bringing back the Pretzel Bacon Pub Burger.

The Wendy's Pretzel Bacon Pub Burger is one of the chain’s most popular limited-time menu items, with sporadic returns since its debut in 2020. The fan-favorite burger features Wendy’s signature square quarter-pound beef patty with warm Muenster cheese and applewood-smoked bacon on the namesake soft pretzel bun, piled high with crispy fried onions and pickles, and finished with warm beer cheese sauce and smoky honey mustard.

Since it disappeared from menus in 2022, Wendy's customers have been regularly asking the chain to bring it back. "Is the godly pretzel bacon pub burger back anywhere??" one fan questioned on Reddit last year.

"That was one of the best fast food burgers I ever had," someone else chimed in, while another fan added, "I dream about this bad boy."

After Wendy's shared the good news on Instagram, fans flooded the comments to share their excitement. "Yes, this burger was my absolute favorite for the longest!! I’m so happy," wrote one fan. Another added, "I’ve been praying for this day for years ... thank you, Wendy."

Though it’s unclear exactly when the Pretzel Bacon Pub Burger will return to menus or for how long it will be available, Wendy’s shared that the highly anticipated item is "coming soon." For now, you can always get your hamburger—and nostalgia—fix with Wendy’s newest meal, which fans have dubbed one of the best since the ‘90s.
