"Landman" Character Describes "The View" Perfectly

Landman
The streaming show "Landman" has never ceases to impress viewers every episode. Creator Taylor Sheridan reached another level when the show's characters made an epic description of the real-life talk show "The View".

In the episode, T.L. (Sam Elliott) called his son Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) to ask for advice. The oil executive did not mince his words as he described "The View" to his father, who just moved into Tommy's home after years of them not speaking.

Tommy said his dad should "do whatever you want to do."

"Read a book or watch TV — watch one of them daytime talk shows, you know, like "The View" or something," Tommy suggested, which prompted T.L. to ask, "What's The View?"

Tommy then described the ABC talk show, which is hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, in no uncertain terms.

"The View" is, he said, a "bunch of pissed off millionaires bitching about how much they hate millionaires — and [President Donald] Trump and men and you and me — and everybody else they got a bee up their ass about."

The show is "pretty funny," Tommy said, but T.L. wasn't too sure.

"Well, it ain’t joke funny, it’s like fart in church funny, you know what I mean?” Tommy explained, but T.L. said, "That don't sound funny, either."

The real reason for his call, T.L. explained, was that he couldn't get back inside the house as the door had been locked.

"We're in deep," Elliott said of his and Thornton's storyline this season. "It's just a treat to go to work and be with him. I've loved him from afar for a long time, and now I get to love him up close. It's special."
