Can the Isuzu MU-X offer a stiff competition in the Philippines?
All-truck assembler Isuzu Philippines Corp. thinks so after it projected to grab a 10 percent market share of the 60,000 unit sports utility market. Their value-added is its growing popularity in other countries and better pricing scheme.
Joseph Bautista, IPC assistant division head for marketing, told reporters at the MU-X model launch on 9 September 2014 at SMX Convention Center that its new SUV model is going to replace Alterra, which has reached its end of life. Bautista said the company aims to sell at least 2,000 MU-X units this year and over 6,000 units for the entire 2015 to capture 10 percent market share in the SUV market.
The All-New Isuzu MU-X is available in six dynamic color options: Splash White, Silky Pearl White, Cosmic Black, Titanium Silver, Aqua Blue and Outback Brown. Prices are set at PhP 1.188 million for the mu-X LS M/T 4x2; PhP 1.260 million for the MU-X LS-M M/T 4x2; PhP 1.358 million for the MU-X LS-A A/T 4x2; and PhP 1.748 million for the MU-X LS-A A/T 4x4. An additional PhP 10,000 will be added to variant price for all Silky Pearl White units.
