Closure Of Comic Quest In 2025 Followed By Other Shops

Comic Quest
More than a year ago, Comic Quest closed its physical store at SM Megamall. Until now, many comic book fans and collectors were able to move forward.

In their previous posts on its official Facebook page, Comic Quest announced that the ongoing renovations at SM Megamall has led to the closing of its physical store starting 5 January 2025. The store expressed their "deepest gratitude" to its customers, staff, and the comic book community, which they described as the "cornerstone" of their success.

The good news is that only its physical location that is closing, as customers can still buy from them online.

Comic Quest is just the latest business establishment that has had to close its doors due to a mall's ongoing renovation. Back in January 20205, Greenbelt 2's Mary Grace Café branch announced its permanent closure due to the mall's renovation project. The restaurant announced it would be relocated to another section of the mall.

One of the more recent business closures to happen in the metro is that of BAKE Cheese Tart Philippines, which announced its permanent closure back in October. In the caption to the Instagram post announcing their closure, the business expressed gratitude for "(seven) years of cheesy memories".

The closure of BAKE Cheese Tart Philippines is just one of the many food establishments to close this year. Back in July 2024, French restaurant Metronome announced "with deep regret" that it would be closing permanently as a business. In the post, the restaurant said that its facilities are still "fully intact and ready to operate" and included an email address for interested parties to contact.

The week before that, Bacolod City's Manokan Country closed after the Bacolod City Hall reached an agreement with SM Prime Holdings Incorporated (SMPHI). The agreement was signed in October last year and gives SMPHI the go signal to build a mixed-use building with retail stores, BPO hub, and a rebranded Manokan Country.

Makati's Corner Tree Café also closed its doors on 30 September 2024. The restaurant has been open for 15 years before its closure.
