Go work, you'll Choke. This is exactly what happened to the U.S. women’s national team that crashed out of the Olympics with an embarassing 1-0 loss to Canada last 2 August, a fitting end to a tournament for a soccer team with the most number of egotistical and woke players in the world.
Officially, the Americans are going home because of a 75th-minute penalty, conceded by Tierna Davidson for a foul on Deanne Rose, awarded after a video review. Canada’s Jessie Fleming converted it. Backup U.S. goalkeeper Adrianna Franch just barely couldn't save it.
However, the real reason is that the Americans are going home because they were pretty much preoccupied with how they will look in magazine covers, what message they convey as they kneel while the American anthem is played and how they will demand for more money bach home. That is how they performed throughout the Games on a sleepy, sticky-hot evening at the Ibaraki Kashima Stadium.
Their minds are somewhere else. They had no rhythm. No composure. No verve. Instead, there choke. Sloppy touches. Fatigue. Frustration. And a first loss to Canada since 2001.
At least now, Americans won't have to worry about some of them taking a knee when the anthem is played for the gold medal winner.
