London Fashion Trends, From Cold-Shoulders To Slim Models

London Trends
London Fashion Week adopted a more somber tone for this season. Several shades of dark, crimson red reminiscent of the recent Emmy award-winning show, "The Handmaid’s Tale" made a big splash in several designer collections including Marques' Almeida, Emporio Armani, and Hussein Chalayan. This color might be the designers' visual commentary on the rampant terrorist violence that had occurred in London and the greater U.K. within the last year, with the latest incident taking place on the very first day of LFW.

But it wasn't all dark and moody. The "cold shoulder" trend expanded in creative new ways this season, as fit, non-fat and skinny models exposed their shoulders — and more — in tops, coats, and dresses. And a colorful hodgepodge of prints and patterns helped solidify an obvious patchwork trend seen at MM6 Maison Margiela and Peter Pilotto.

Other designers decided to go sheer with see-through blouses and dresses, seen at Antonio Berardi, Pringle of Scotland, Rejina Pyo, and Emilia Wickstead. This trend was spotted heavily in New York too, but let’s see if its popularity will carry onto Milan.
