The New Retro Console Packs A Lot Of Punch

Retro Console
A few months ago, Nintendo decided to pull the plug on its wildly popular NES Classic Edition console (though anybody can still buy it on Amazon). People went crazy when they first found out that the cool little retro console was cancelled, but it turns out it was a good thing. Why? Because it paved the way for the Hyperkin RetroN 1 HD Gaming Console for NES.

The cute little console packs plenty of punch — while the NES Classic could only play a handful of games, the RetroN 1 can play literally every NES game that has ever existed. It is compatible with both NTSC and PAL cartridges, it costs just US$ 39.99 on Amazon, and it's available for pre-order right now.

Here are some highlights from the product page:
  • HD audio and video (720p), 16:9/4:3 aspect ratio switch
  • High compatibility for NTSC AND PAL cartridges (via bottom case switch)
  • Premium classic-style “Cadet” controller (10 ft. cable)
  • 3 ft. HD cable, 6 ft. Micro USB charge cable with USB AC Adapter
  • Also includes AV ports with AV cable
