Sony has just revealed two new versions of its hit PlayStation video game console last 7 September, one geared toward professional gamers and another that's smaller and more energy efficient.
At an event in New York City, the company unveiled the PlayStation 4 Pro, which will render some games in 4K resolution - an image about four times larger than the current high definition standard that is widely available.
And, as long as the unit is plugged into a high dynamic range television, many games played on the new unit will display more vivid and realistic colors.
The PlayStation 4 Pro, which is targeted at more serious gamers and features a 1TB hard drive, will be available starting 10 November and will cost US$ 399.
Sony also revealed a revamped version of its standard PlayStation 4.
The new system weighs 16 percent less than its predecessor. It offers a 500 GB hard drive for storing games and other data and is 28 percent more energy efficient, according to Sony.
