Mobile App Dealing in Violence Against Women

AksyonVAW
Do you cower in the dark? Do you withdraw from social media?

Where will you seek help in going after identity thieves?

An organization that helps map Violence Against Women on the Internet has come up with an interactive app that helps young people fight back against cyber-bullying, identity theft and sexual harassment online.

AksyonVAW allows users to play with scenarios and experiment with problem-solving.

"If the user chooses one option, a resulting scenario appears," said Christina Lopez, program assistant for gender and ICT of the Foundation for Media Alternatives (FMA).

The app, available on Google Play, also shares tips on handling online abuse. There is a link to a website that tracks complaints of digital harassment.
