Nintendo will release next month the New Nintendo 3DS, the smaller version of its new handheld that features interchangeable cover plates, in North America. The exact date was set on 25 September and it will be part of a special bundle with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, the company announced.
The bundle will include Happy Home Designer, two cover plates and one amiibo card and will retail for US$ 219.99.
Nintendo of America started selling the New Nintendo 3DS XL stateside in February, but unlike other regions, didn't bring over the smaller version of the new handheld — which includes colorful Super Famicom-style face buttons. The New Nintendo 3DS line of handhelds include more powerful processors and a built-in NFC reader.
Nintendo announced it will sell the separate, stand-alone NFC reader accessory — which is compatible with original Nintendo 3DS and 2DS models — starting 25 September for US$ 19.99.
