The Demanding Challenge of Dodge Challenger

Dodge Challenger
The high demand for the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat duo could only mean one thing, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles need to double the cars' current rate of production. Unfortunately, the increase in production will not start until the switchover to 2016 model this September, meaning current tight supplies of 2015 models will remain.

It also means that some existing orders for the 2015 Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat will be canceled. FCA states it will fulfill currently scheduled orders for 2015 model year cars but customers with unscheduled orders will have to wait for 2016 examples. Those unlucky customers will receive a discount on their cars.

Unfortunately, reports says that pricing on 2016 examples will rise; full pricing details should be released in the second week of August when order books open. Official pricing for the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat started at US$ 59,995, while for the 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat the pricing started at US$ 63,995. Both figures are after destination and gas guzzler charges are added. Of course, steep premiums were common. FCA is hopeful the increase in production of the 2016 model will help make the buying process fairer.
