The New Honda Civic Type R

Honda Civic Type R
Honda has everyone chomping at the bit over the Civic Type R. But now they’ve upped the ante, by promising it will hit a top speed of 167 MPH. It will also have at least 276 horsepower, making this thing quite the pocket rocket.

The Civic Type R doesn’t debut until the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015, but details are coming out ahead of time. There will be a special aero kit that includes a wide front splitter and deep side skirts and a front bumper formed to limit air turbulence around the front wheels.

The front wheels will also get high performance Brembo brakes designed just for the Civic Type R with four-piston calipers applying braking force to 350 mm drilled discs to help you stay in control and that you stop when you’re ready to stop. There are also new 19″ alloy wheels to go with those larger brakes.

Heat management is achieved through larger upper and lower grilles in the front bumper, vents above the wheels on the front quarter panels and at the trailing edges of the front wheel arches. This will provide plenty of cooling and ventilation for the engine.
